Mrs. Kathleen “Kitty” Crane
Miss Crane, a United Methodist Church missionary, went to Korea in 1952 and dedicated her life to advancing the role of women of that country. She spent thirty-five years teaching at EWHA, the largest women’s university in the world, where she initiated the first course in stenography in South Korea. In 1954, she founded the EWHA Voice, the first English campus newspaper in South Korea as a voice of hope and enlightenment for Korean women.
