Dr. David M. Morris
Presently serving as Assistant Professor at the University of Texas – Permian Basin since 2014. Researching environmental physiology, the study of exercise performance in extreme environments (heat, cold, high altitude). Projects are designed to enhance the performance of the athlete and special operations forces from the military who work and compete in these environments.
Visiting Scientist at the Department of Exercise & Sports Science, Charles Sturt University in Bathurst, NSW, Australia in 2014
Assistant Professor, Appalachian State University, 2008-2014. Researched use of nutritional and training interventions to improve exercise performance in extreme environments. Also collaborated with U.S. Army Special Operations Command (USASOC) at Ft. Bragg, NC, researching and consulting in areas of physiology and nutrition. This division oversees special forces troops like the Rangers and Green Berets.
