ELA GROWTH

• DISTRICT-WIDE ELA PERFORMANCE •

Webb City students have demonstrated strong performance in English Language Arts over the past four years, frequently outperforming Missouri averages and ranking among the stronger districts in the region. Third-grade ELA has been an especially consistent strength, with 61%–69% of students scoring Proficient or Advanced each year from 2022–2025. In 2025, 65.0% of Webb City third graders were Proficient or Advanced compared with 41.9% statewide — a 23.1 percentage-point advantage. Pasted text

Strong results are also evident at other grade levels. Fourth-grade ELA reached 70.4% Proficient or Advanced in 2023, while fifth-grade performance reached 56.3% in 2023 and 55.4% in 2024. Pasted text

At the high school level, English 2 continues to be another area of strength. Webb City recorded 65.5% Proficient or Advanced in 2023, 59.9% in 2024, and 62.2% in 2025, compared with Missouri's 53.0% in 2025. Pasted text

The data also identifies opportunities for continued growth, particularly in grades 6–8, where proficiency rates have generally been lower than Webb City's elementary and high school ELA results. Overall, the four-year data shows a district with consistently strong early literacy results, solid high school English performance, and clear areas to target for continued improvement.
