Reflections:
BOY: Last year, we relaunched Everyday Math in grades K–4 to strengthen Tier 1 math instruction. Following our comprehensive math curriculum audit, we adopted Everyday Math for grades 5–6 and Open Up Resources for grades 7–8 to ensure a cohesive, standards-aligned instructional sequence across the district. In response to a steady decline in student math performance, the audit also resulted in the development of districtwide instructional non-negotiables, with a renewed focus on ensuring fidelity of implementation in all classrooms. A key districtwide non-negotiable moving forward is the daily integration of math fact fluency practice. This expectation will be implemented across all grade levels to support foundational skill development and improved student outcomes.
